Welcome to the Corporate Flood and Heat Risk Management Resource Hub!
Human-induced climate change is putting people, ecosystems, and the economy at risk. The International Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) has identified human-induced warming of urban areas is leading to heavy precipitation and flood risks. In the Greater Toronto Area, businesses will need to assess upstream and downstream impacts related to their operations to mitigate the impacts of extreme heat and flood risk on their property.
The Corporate Flood and Heat Risk Management (CFHRM) Resource Hub is aimed at engaging the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI)/Multi-Unit Residential Buildings (MURB) sectors with knowledge to improve their property’s adaptation to a changing climate. The modules provide business managers, sustainability consultants, and facility managers with access to learning tools and resources on:
- Flood and heat risks and their mitigation and adaptation best practices.
- The types of Low Impact Development/Green Infrastructure and their functions.
- Use of Low Impact Development/Green Infrastructure to improve on-site resilience to flood and heat risks.
Test your knowledge of each module with a short quiz. Upon the successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Understanding Our Connection to Water: An Anishinaabe Woman’s Perspective (1 Module)
Developed by Cambium Indigenous Professional Services
Everyone, including individuals and businesses, have a role to play in protecting and caring for Water. Whether it is an adjacent creek, river, lake, or simply the rain that falls onto one’s property, there is always an opportunity to do our part to ensure that Water is protected and clean.
As Water carriers, care takers, and protectors, Indigenous women of Canada have always fought and advocated for the rights of Water. This module shares an Anishinaabe woman’s perspective on the significance that Water holds, not only through the lens of an Anishinaabe woman, but as a shared connection for all of us residing on this land.
