On Tuesday, May 14th, the Energy Leaders Consortium will meet online with Trish Kramer and Justice Hadley from CDP. During this session, the ELC will learn about science-based targets as a key element of a credible climate transition plan.
A climate transition plan should be underpinned by ambitious, verified near-and long-term science-based targets which are in line with the latest climate science. But what exactly are ‘science-based targets’ and what makes them ambitious and verifiable? What is the process companies need to follow to set them?
This session will cover:
- An introduction to credible climate transition plans and why they are a vital tool
- Why climate transition plans should be underpinned by science-based targets (SBTs)
- An introduction to SBTs and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- The process for setting SBTs
- The resources available to support companies on this journey
Session agenda and details will be sent to ELC members only.
