The Corporate Flood and Heat Risk Management (CFHRM) program, delivered by Partners in Project Green (PPG), brought to you by Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Toronto Pearson, in partnership with Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program (STEP), educates and supports business managers, sustainability consultants, and facility managers from the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI)/Multi-Unit Residential Building (MURB) sectors to inspire action to build climate resilience. This programming focuses on Green Infrastructure (GI), also referred to as Low Impact Development (LID) or Nature-based Solutions. PPG offers incentives to PPG member organizations that qualify to implement GI projects onsite.
Participating businesses must be an ICI/MURB property landowner/lessee that meets the following criteria:
- Agrees to maintain projects implemented on the property.
- A Member of Partners in Project Green (Student and Professional members are not eligible). Learn more about PPG membership.
- Landowner/lessee owns or leases a property with sizeable outdoor space within TRCA’s boundary.
- Completed a CFHRM site assessment.
- Landowner/lessee demonstrates willingness to learn about best practices to improve on-site flood and heat risk resiliency on their property.
- Landowner/lessee is committed to taking actions to improve climate resiliency and funding implementation of GI/LID solutions and maintaining the features regularly.
- Landowner/lessee willing to have key staff complete free online training – Corporate Flood and Heat Risk Management program.
- Landowner/lessee is willing to sign a Participant Agreement with TRCA and abide by the Terms and Conditions.
- Landowner/lessee is willing to share requested information as part of the program including costing information, before and after photos of work completed, and copies of invoices/receipts of the work completed before receiving the financial rebates.
- Landowner/lessee is willing to complete a short, follow-up survey after the LID/GI project is completed.
- Lessees have written permission from landowner that:
- Allows TRCA to conduct outdoor site assessment (data collection)
- Allows implementation of LID/GI projects on their property that are funded by lessee or landowner (e.g., rain gardens, bioretention/bioswale, native vegetation plantings, etc.);
- Each eligible LID/GI project will have an incentive rate (50-100%) depending on the type.
- The total incentive for LID projects* to capture rooftop or stormwater runoff, (list provided in the application) which includes a desktop conceptual design, detailed design, materials and labour costs will be capped at a maximum of $10,000.
- The incentive rate of 50% of total cost (planting plan, materials, labour) will be applicable for planting native trees/shrubs with a maximum of $5,000.
- Maintenance of LID/GI will be the responsibility of the applicant.

Instructions
- This incentive is only available to Partners in Project Green members (ICI/MURB) that meet the eligibility criteria.
- Please complete and submit the application form below to be considered for incentives under the Corporate Flood and Heat Risk Management program.
- Applications will be reviewed and selected if they meet the eligibility criteria.
- Successful applications:
- If the application is for planting native trees and shrubs only, an agreement will be shared with the applicant for signature.
- If the application is for a LID project, a desktop conceptual design will be developed by TRCA using the Low Impact Development Treatment Train Tool (LID TTT) to identify suitable LID/GI types and high-level cost estimates. After the conceptual design is shared, discussed, and approved by the applicant, they will be invited to complete phase 2 of the application with detailed design and cost estimates. If phase 2 application is approved, an agreement will be shared with the applicant for signature.
- The LID TTT models will be shared to support more detailed design by an external contractor.
- All applicants will be contacted regarding their application status, whether selected or not.
