World Health Day – April 7

World Health Day is observed annually on April 7th to raise awareness about global health issues and encourage people to act towards improving health and well-being worldwide. It is organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the main goal is to highlight a specific health theme or issue that requires urgent attention, education, and action. In 2025, the WHO has announced the theme “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures”, focusing on improving maternal and newborn health and survival.

Passover – April 12 – 20
Passover, or Pesach in Hebrew, is an important Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt, as described in the story of Exodus in the Bible. In 2025, Passover will begin at sunset on the evening of Saturday, April 12, and will end at nightfall on Monday, April 20th. The first two nights are typically when the Seder meals are held, marking the beginning of the holiday. During these days, all leaven, whether in bread or other mixture, is prohibited, and Matzah is the staple unleavened bread eaten as it symbolizes the Israelites’ hasty departure from Egypt, where they didn’t have time for the bread to rise.
