Recap: Fall 2026 Sustainability Leaders Social

On September 24, Partners in Project Green hosted our signature networking event, the Sustainability Leaders Social, at our TRCA Administrative Office – an award-winning mass timber structure for environmentally responsible construction and workplace well-being.

This event brought together sustainability professionals, sponsored by PPG Member EcoBright Energy, for an evening of networking, learning, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting some new ones.

Presentation by Obehi Agboneni (Energy Solutions Consultant – EcoBright Energy).
Presentation by Jennifer Taves (Senior Manager of TRCA’s Sustainable Communities).

We welcomed to the stage EcoBright Energy’s Obehi Agboneni, who spoke on the transition from LED 1.0 lower-wattage
lighting to LED 2.0. This technology combines efficient lighting with occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting and intelligent controls. Through facility assessments, savings analysis and financial planning, Obehi helps organizations turn energy opportunities into practical, approval-ready projects. He has supported more than 100 organizations across Ontario.

Setting the standard for sustainable construction

Guests were offered complimentary tours of the TRCA Administrative Office building, a winner of both LEED and Zero Carbon Building Design certifications. They learned how wood-first design, advanced energy efficiency, hydronic heating & cooling, water walls & solar chimneys, and much more, were weaved into the fabric of this space.

If you’re interested in the full-length tour, visit the booking page.

Delivering flavour responsibly

PPG stands by sustainable events, always offering vegetarian and vegan-friendly food options. This event we chose the services of Vert Casse Croute, who provides delicious bites and focuses on responsible catering. Their ethos:

“We use as much local and organic product as possible.
We are vegan and plant based food specialists.”

Guests were especially impressed with the vegan crab cakes – yum!
