PPG’s flagship energy performance program, the Energy Leaders Consortium (ELC), brings together a dynamic network of energy professionals on a regular basis to share best practices and support collective action on energy projects.

A Network of Energy Professionals

Participants of the ELC include professionals in the following roles from a variety of industries and sectors:

  • Facilities Management
  • Environmental, Health, and Safety
  • Manufacturing/Operating Engineers
  • Sustainability and Climate Change
  • Executive Leadership
  • Energy Management and Efficiencies

Why Energy Efficiency Matters

The cost of energy is rising, here in the GTA and around the world. Managing energy efficiently is important for all businesses regardless of sector, size, or location. It can help reduce expenses, improve workplace comfort, and result in significant reductions in GHG emissions and air pollution. However, the complexity of energy efficiencies can be daunting for many companies to tackle alone, even with in-house energy management expertise.

Collectively, the ELC can make a difference!

What to Expect

When you join the ELC, you become a part of the network of like-minded energy professionals who are driving energy performance in their organizations and demonstrating leadership across the GTA. Through sharing knowledge and experiences, ELC members help drive down costs and GHG emissions by:

  • Learning from each other’s energy projects and success stories
  • Sharing resources and expertise on best practices, innovative technologies, and funding opportunities
  • Strategizing solutions to common challenges through collective projects and roundtable discussions
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous efficiencies

Consortium Format

Members meet throughout the year and rotate through these three session styles:

  1. Expert presentations delivered by guest organizations about new technologies, energy management processes, and regulatory policies
  2. Online member roundtables to share project updates and identify opportunities for collective action
  3. Half-day, in-person site tours, hosted by member organizations and PPG partners that include facility walk-throughs, member presentations, and group discussions. Previous tours have included:

“PPG proactively canvasses the members to understand what their area of interests are as well as the challenges they are facing. They use this information to develop content for the program, which means featured topics are always relevant to what members are interested in. Material is presented and delivered in a variety of formats and includes onsite tours and visits for a hands-on experience which also provides networking opportunities to connect with other members.” Unity Health Toronto
