Fall 2024 Litter Cleanup at Claireville Conservation Area and King’s Park

PPG Members picked up 441lbs of trash!

Partners in Project Green (PPG) hosted two litter cleanups on September 16th and 21st to celebrate World Cleanup Day. 25 PPG members (including BentallGreenOak, CD Sonter, Dishon Limited, FGF Brands, Molson Coors and MScSM students from University of Toronto Mississauga) joined forces to help make our greenspaces cleaner and more beautiful! Operation Litter Ridder came and provided us with backpacks (made of recycled plastic water bottles!) designed for individual litter pickups, which made our experience fun and easy!

September 16th – Claireville Conservation Park, Brampton

At the Gorewood entrance of Claireville Conservation Park, the hidden parking lot unfortunately experiences illegal dumping frequently. In just under 2 hours, PPG members collected 280lbs of litter.

September 21st – King’s Park, Mississauga

With the heavy rainfall and flooding that the GTA has experienced throughout this summer, a lot of litter got washed up along the Etobicoke Creek that runs through King’s Park. Within 2 hours, PPG members picked up 161lbs of garbage!
