June 5th marks the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day!
Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated every year on the 5th of June. The first celebration, under the slogan “Only One Earth” took place in 1974.
50 years on, the motto is as pertinent as ever – this planet is our only home, and humanity must safeguard its finite resources.
The 2022 World Environment Day campaign #OnlyOneEarth calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
