Member Spotlight: TD Friends of the Environment Foundation- Celebrating 15 Years of Tree Days

Since its launch in 2010, TD Tree Days events – the flagship volunteer and urban greening program of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) – have become one way the Foundation helps to promote environmental education and enhance green spaces in communities across Canada.

Over the past 15 years, the TD Tree Days program has created opportunities for TD colleagues, their families and friends, community members, and local organizations to roll up their sleeves and help plant more than 550,000 native trees and shrubs nationwide. Beyond helping to create greener spaces, TD Tree Days events also support community connections by bringing people together to help strengthen community resilience and contribute to a legacy that can continue to grow for generations.

This fall, TD Tree Days marks its 15th anniversary. With support from 60 community organizations, including municipalities, conservation authorities, not-for-profits, and Indigenous communities, another 30,000 trees and shrubs will be planted in the places people call home. By blending local expertise with shared purpose, these collaborations strive to ensure that each planting aligns with the unique needs of the surrounding natural habitats.

As TD Friends of the Environment celebrates 15 years of TD Tree Days, it is also marking another important milestone – TD FEF’s 35th anniversary. Together, these milestones highlight the longstanding commitment that TD FEF has to grassroots environmental action through helping to: protect ecosystems, foster environmental stewardship, and contribute to more vibrant communities.
