Member Spotlight: EcoBright Energy

EcoBright Energy is an energy solutions provider specializing in advanced LED 2.0 lighting retrofits and smart controls for commercial, institutional, and community buildings. We help organizations upgrade outdated lighting systems with zero upfront capital investment through our $0 CapEx program, making energy efficiency both accessible and financially immediate.

Our mission is to accelerate the transition to high-performance, energy-efficient infrastructure while aligning projects with ESG goals. By combining intelligent lighting systems with turnkey project delivery, we enable clients to reduce operating costs, lower carbon emissions, and improve overall building performance without financial barriers.

What excites us most about the PPG community is the shared commitment to sustainability, education, and long-term impact. We see strong alignment in supporting community-focused organizations, in reducing energy waste while redirecting savings toward their core mission.

Summary of Research (Toronto Metropolitan University – ELIXIR Lab)

EcoBright’s technology has been independently validated through a comprehensive study conducted at the ELIXIR Laboratory at Toronto Metropolitan University.

The research evaluated EcoBright’s motion-sensing LED system under real-world simulated occupancy conditions across multiple building types, including schools, warehouses, fitness facilities, and parking environments. The results demonstrated that the system responds reliably to occupancy while dynamically dimming or shutting off lighting when spaces are not in use.

Most notably, the study confirmed energy savings ranging from approximately 35% to over 60%, depending on the application, compared to traditional always-on lighting systems . These reductions translate directly into lower operating costs and significant carbon emission savings at scale.

The findings validate occupancy-based lighting control as a highly effective strategy for improving energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings.
