On August 13, 2025, Partners in Project Green will host an exclusive webinar for Circular Economy Leaders Consortium (CEC) members delivered by Brent Brodie, Senior Procurement Analyst and Project Lead who will provide an in-depth look at York’s industry-leading Social Procurement program. Brent will walk us through policy to action and will detail how York has overcome some of the challenges associated with social procurement implementation. Brent will also showcase York’s open-sourced Social Procurement Vendor Portal and Toolkit for Vendors and Purchasers.

Brent Brodie, Senior Procurement Analyst and Project Lead, York University
Brent joined York in 2021 as the Senior Procurement Analyst and Project Lead within Strategic Procurement Services at York University. Brent is responsible for leading York’s social and sustainable procurement program which has included the creation of York University’s open-sourced Social Procurement Vendor Portal and the implementation of over a dozen construction projects successfully awarded with social procurement deliverables. These construction projects have to date created 73 entry-level apprenticeship opportunities for equity-deserving community members and nearly $10 million spent at local businesses, diverse-owned suppliers and social enterprises. Prior to his time at York University, Brent completed a PhD at the University of Edinburgh and worked for the Scottish Government as a policy officer implementing their 10-year social enterprise strategy.
