On March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day, PPG’s Senior Manager Jennifer Taves sent a message to the PPG community recognizing the efforts of those women who help shape our programs and initiatives. The message can be viewed below:
On behalf of the Partners in Project Green team, I would like to wish our members a Happy International Women’s Day.
The United Nations has declared this year’s International Women’s Day theme “gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, emphasizing the fact that women bear a disproportionate burden of the impacts of the climate crisis and that they need to be central in developing solutions for a more sustainable world.
At PPG, we believe that part of the work needed for gender-just climate solutions is to provide women with leadership opportunities in the sustainability space. As we continue reviewing our own policies and commitments towards advancing gender and diversity parity in our committees, membership, and panel events, we are committed to ensuring that we provide individuals in our network the space and opportunities they deserve in order to help them share their expertise and excel in their fields.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the women who are part of the PPG network, as well as those that support PPG in advancing our programming and services through providing their time and skills to our programs and consortiums:
