On May 28, 2025, Partners in Project Green will host an exclusive webinar for Circular Economy Leaders Consortium (CEC) on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tools. This presentation will build off previous sessions discussing the effective use of LCA tools to drive impactful sustainability initiatives within organizations. With a particular focus on leveraging various LCA tools, the session will equip participants with practical strategies for implementing, managing, and optimizing these resources to accurately assess environmental impacts and inform strategic decisions.
Key Areas to be covered include:
- Introduction to accessible and user-friendly LCA tools and databases.
- Practical steps for establishing and managing reliable baseline data.
- Overview of commonly used LCA software and a review of their respective strengths and applicability.
- Introduction to techniques for effectively navigating LCA software, managing data inputs, and making informed selections regarding assumptions and data proxies to ensure high-quality analyses.
- Guidance on interpreting LCA outputs strategically, using tool-generated insights to clearly align sustainability efforts with organizational goals.
- Best practices for effectively communicating LCA results, translating complex tool-generated data into meaningful, relatable metrics that resonate with stakeholders across different levels.
Participants will leave prepared to effectively implement and leverage LCA tools, driving enhanced sustainability performance within their organizations.

Calvin Lakhan, Ph.D, Co-Investigator, Waste Wiki, York University
Calvin is currently co-investigator of the “Waste Wiki” project at York University (with Dr. Mark Winfield), a research project devoted to advancing understanding of waste management research and policy in Canada. Calvin’s current research can largely be divided into four areas: 1) Evaluating the efficacy of municipal policy instruments used to promote waste diversion, 2) Optimizing the recycling system to achieve increased diversion while minimizing material management costs, 3) Examining the role of race and ethnicity as antecedents to recycling behavior and 4) Encouraging pro environmental behavior among minority and marginalized groups.
